2.1 Information you provide
Sourcing requests. When you submit a sourcing request, we collect your name, job title (if provided), company name and website (if provided), email address, phone number (if provided), country, robot type, the component and specifications you need, your project stage, expected annual volume, origin requirement, and any notes you include.
Correspondence. When you email us, we collect the information in your message.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Submission metadata. With each sourcing request we record your IP address, browser user agent, the referring URL and the page the request was submitted from, for compliance, security and fraud prevention.
Log data and cookies. Our servers record standard log data. We use strictly necessary cookies for session management and security.
2.3 Sanctions screening
Your name, company name and country are submitted to a third-party sanctions screening service (currently OpenSanctions) to check them against publicly available sanctions and restricted-party lists, including lists maintained by the U.S. OFAC and BIS, the European Union, the United Nations Security Council, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia and Taiwan. We store the screening result, including any match score and matched entity, as part of our compliance records.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To review your request and search for suppliers that fit it.
- To introduce you to suppliers, as described in Section 5.
- To reply to you by email about your request.
- To screen requests against sanctions lists, detect fraud and abuse, and keep an audit trail.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
Depending on your jurisdiction, we process personal information because it is necessary to take steps at your request (handling your sourcing request), for our legitimate interests (operating the Platform, security, and sanctions and export-control compliance), or to comply with a legal obligation.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
Suppliers. While we search, we may describe your requirement to suppliers without identifying you. When we introduce you to a supplier, we share your name, title, company, contact details and request with that supplier. We do this only after your request has passed screening, and only with suppliers we have verified and that have signed our introduction agreement.
Service providers. We use providers for hosting, email delivery and sanctions screening. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of RoboticsTaiwan.com, our users or the public.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
6. Data Retention
Sourcing requests. We retain requests, screening results and submission metadata for compliance and audit purposes. Screened request records are kept as compliance records and are not deleted, although personal details can be erased on a verified request where the law allows.
After an introduction. Once we have introduced you to a supplier, you correspond with the supplier directly. We do not store those communications.
Logs. Server logs are retained for up to 24 months.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to, stored and processed in countries other than your own, including Taiwan, where the suppliers we introduce are based. Where required by law, we put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Deletion is subject to the compliance retention described in Section 6. Residents of the EEA, UK and Switzerland may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. California residents have the rights given by the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell personal information. Residents of Taiwan have the rights given by the Personal Data Protection Act.

10. Children
The Platform is for business use and is not directed at anyone under 18.
11. Changes
